STORY / GAMEPLAY Your mission in this action puzzler is to make prehistoric cavemen evolve by helping them to discover tools, the wheel, weapons or even fire. You'll find your Dino Dudes waiting - aimless and bored - around the level but don't be misled since each of them is a prehistoric power-house ready to struggle for evolution. To succeed, you have to learn how to control several Dino Dudes and make them work together as a team. It takes precision and teamwork to master the difficult tasks of survival. After all, becoming the dominant species isn't easy -especially with all those hungry dinosaurs roaming out there. To pick up an item, you can select the Pick-Up icon using the C button and pressing the B or Down button on your joypad). When your Dino Dude picks up an item, the action bar will display a new set of icons for you to select, offering a range of possible actions to take with your new item. You may also form a Dino Dude Ladder/Stacking by stacking your Dino Dudes on top of one another to form a human ladder. These ladders are useful for moving up and down on the platforms. Inside a cave you have to guide your cavemen to discover spears, fire, watching for the occasional T-Rex who enjoys biting the heads off of your dudes. Note that each cave is swarmed by pre-historic enemies to battle, including famished carnivores and rival tribesmen as well as tons of obstacles to overcome, including cliffs and boulders. Discover and master the use of fire, spears, ropes, even powerful witchdoctors. Note that it may get frustrating trying to figure out what to do but it's a fun diversion. The game features 80 -tough to complete- levels.
GRAPHICS / SOUND The Atari Jaguar version has pretty good visuals, similar to the Atari Falcon. The graphics feature 256-color screens with nicely drawn backgrounds and the sprites, although small, look cute and nicely animated. The game's sound is equally good and includes some nice music and sampled sound effects.
